Listen up Ikamatua!

What do you enjoy about operating out of Ikamatua?

It’s always great to enjoy the company of who you work alongside and I’m now a little further away from the team in Greymouth. Luckily pretty much every day we get a visit (even if just for a break) from one of our vets, and the phone rings regularly so we’re always in touch with the Greymouth and the Hokitika teams. Being based that little bit out the road means the space is a bit more rural. It's a nice space to get to know all the locals out this way a bit better - whatever their animals are.

It’s also great to be working in with Glen, Catriona & the team of Tasman Ag - like us they’re really keen we get you what you need when you need.  By working with Tas Ag out here, we are making it easier for clients to shop for supplies at one stop and keeping their k’s down too. Which is good for me too, as I’m based out here so less time in the car!

Combined with the engineer, the shop, the hotel, the petrol station, pump services & Tasman Ag, Ikamatua covers so many of the must-haves without the travel. While we might not have everything on hand - it’s easy to order in what you need, so you can collect at your convenience.

What’s something most people wouldn’t know about Ikamatua?

We also stock products for your companion animals. From February we will have a vet on-site on Thursdays so you can get companion animal routine check ups, vaccinations and microchips done at Ikamatua (8:30am to 4:30pm appointments required - can be made either through Ikamatua or Greymouth). When the times comes we will be able to do dry cow consults and farm RVM’s there too.
